BIOFUELS

BIOFUELS

Unlike other renewable energy sources, biomass can be converted directly into liquid fuels, called "biofuels," to help meet transportation fuel needs. The two most common types of biofuels in use today are ethanol and biodiesel, both of which represent the first generation of biofuel technology.

Biofuels serve as a renewable alternative to fossil fuels in the EU's transport sector, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By 2030, the EU aims to increase the share of renewable energy in transport to at least 14%, including a minimum share of 3.5% of advanced biofuels. EU countries are required to set out an obligation on fuel suppliers that ensures the achievement of this target. With Biofuels playing an increasingly important role in developing a sustainable and low carbon economy in the future, Contessa Commodities is an intermediating counterparty in physical biofuels, feedstocks and blending obligation certificates.

We aggregate daily market information spanning across the most active products in order for us to help you in achieving and exceeding your own national blending obligation goals and needs.
